Children at Midland Road nursery school and children's centre (see pic below) were each given a free book as an Eid present at Eid parties. The books came from THE SIOBHAN DOWD TRUST and GIVE A BOOK, two small charities which were set up by two authors for the proceeds of their work to fund book-giving projects with the aim of helping children and adults enjoy reading.

Canterbury Imagine aims to improve literacy and life chances, and to encourage bonding between parent and child, by providing books and fostering a love of reading. Canterbury Nursery School and Centre for Children and Families and Midland Road Nursery School and Children's Centre help parents to register their children.
